Leah Cant
Articled Student

Leah is currently articling at Velletta Pedersen Christie after obtaining her law degree in May 2026. Originally from Northern Ontario in Robinson Huron Treaty territory, she obtained both her undergraduate degree in political science and her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria. Leah is looking forward to developing her general solicitor practice offering services in Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and Corporate & Commercial Law.
Leah enjoys helping clients navigate important planning considerations, including making Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Representation Agreements for healthcare. She recognizes that estate planning often involves deeply personal matters and that each client’s circumstances, priorities, and family dynamics are unique. Her approach emphasizes practical solutions tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals. Leah finds estate planning particularly rewarding because of the peace of mind that thoughtful planning can provide to clients and their families. On the Estate Administration side, Leah can help with applying for probate in British Columbia and assisting Executors with administering estates after probate is received.
Having grown up in a small town, and with many of her family members being business owners themselves, Leah appreciates the important role small businesses play in building and sustaining strong communities. Her background has shaped her perspective on legal practice and fostered a particular passion for helping small business owners in Victoria with incorporating companies, maintaining existing companies, buying and selling businesses and navigating the intersections between corporate law and estate planning where clients are considering succession plans and their future.
Outside of the office, Leah is a farmers market enthusiast. Leah enjoys cooking, practicing yoga, and exploring the island with her partner.
