Julianna moved to Victoria to attend the law program at the University of Victoria, where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2025. Prior to law school, she studied political science, earned a Master of Arts in Political Science from Carleton University, and worked for the federal public service.

During law school, Julianna received the Law Foundation of British Columbia Public Interest Award for two consecutive years in recognition of her extensive community involvement. She was also awarded YLaw’s Best Lawyering Award based on her work at the Law Centre, a free legal clinic serving members of the community. In her final year of law school, Julianna restarted the University of Victoria chapter of Access Pro Bono and set up free legal clinics at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre. In this role, she coordinated with supervising lawyers and organized over 30 student volunteers who provided free legal information to community members.

Julianna articled with Velletta Pedersen Christie, where she focused primarily on family law, and previously worked as a summer student at a family law firm in Duncan, BC. She has experience with a broad range of family law matters, including pension division, child and spousal support, complex property division, and parenting arrangements. Julianna also has experience in a variety of civil matters, including employment law and human rights.

Julianna takes an empathetic and client-focused approach to legal practice. She recognizes that legal issues, particularly in the family law context, are often emotionally challenging and deeply personal. She is committed to ensuring her clients feel heard, and informed throughout the legal process. Julianna prioritizes each client’s individual needs and objectives, whether that involves pursuing an out-of-court settlement or advocating for them through the court process. She approaches every matter with compassion, preparation, and aims to help clients move forward with clarity and confidence.

  • During law school, Julianna was an active member of her law school community. She sat on the executive of the Law Students’ Society, the Environmental Law Club, and the Faculty Counsel. During her last year, she helped re-start and run the Access Pro Bono Clinic which provides an opportunity for law students to work with community members and gives free legal advice to those in need. Julianna also worked as a research assistant for the Faculty of Law and completed projects that ranged from access to justice research to court submissions on animal rights.
