Gregory T. Rhone

Associate

Gregory Rhone was born in Vancouver, and raised in Victoria. He spent several years in Toronto during high school, and returned to the west coast to complete his post-secondary education studying Sciences, English, Classics, Political Science and Philosophy as an undergraduate, and then graduated from law school at the University of Victoria in 1998. After completing his articles, he was called to the bar in February 1999, and has just celebrated 25 years as a lawyer.

Mr. Rhone has a large family, and understands the burden an unexpected injury can place both on individuals and on families. He is an advocate for maintaining high standards for safe healthcare, and his practice focuses on medical malpractice claims, and personal injuries. He also handles estate litigation, and a number of other areas of civil litigation. He has successfully argued in BC’s highest court, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, and in the British Columbia Supreme Court and Provincial Court.

Mr. Rhone was previously employed by the Federal Government and the Government of British Columbia, and worked developing government policy with respect to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, and Consumer Protection. He contributed to the book Voluntary Codes: Private Governance, the Public Interest and Innovation (Webb, Kernaghan, ed. October, 2004).
