Stan Osobik was raised in Ukraine, where he graduated from an Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and earned a law degree at the National University (Lviv) in 2000.
Stan immigrated to Canada in 2001, obtained a diploma in Criminology at Douglas College in 2005, and a J.D. at UVIC in 2008. Stan was called to the B.C. Bar in May 2009 after completing his articles at Crease Harman LLP. At Crease, he had the privilege of representing some high-caliber clients, including various local governments, federal and provincial agencies. Stan had gained considerable knowledge and experience in such areas of civil litigation as tort, contract, corporate, insurance, construction, municipal and bankruptcy. Stan has experience in administrative law, and represented the BC Assessment Authority on several appeals from the decisions of the Property Assessment Appeal Board by way of stated cases to the Supreme Court of B.C. He had also made successful submissions to the WorkSafe BC on behalf of his clients.
Throughout the years of his practice, Stan has conducted investigations and hearings. He provided legal advice to clients on various aspects of their problems. During his 7-year tenure as an ICBC defense counsel, Stan conducted over 100 pre-trial examinations of witnesses, took pre-trial expert depositions, partook in mediations, appeared in Chambers, and conducted civil trials, including a jury trial as lead counsel. In addition, Stan is an experienced solicitor in the areas of real estate, purchase and sale of businesses, certain aspects of corporate law, financing, commercial leasing and secured transactions. He drafted, negotiated and advised on various types of business and commercial agreements and contracts. At his leisure time, Stan spends time with his family and plays soccer for a local team.
